Creating The Vision You Want To See Reflected Back To You
Mid-Year Check-In With Dream Catching, Journal Prompts And Goal Setting
Energy in motion is a beautiful thing. Giving ourselves something to strive for can be the thing that helps us through those inevitable trying times that come in life. Endeavoring for something, giving effort towards a thing we care about gives us purpose.
I just sat and finished up watching the reality doc series about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, on Netflix. Ya’ll seen it? Highly recommend! Wow, do those girls work hard! The level of precision and technique is beyond! Not to mention the commitment and dedication, as well! Many of these women have full time careers and they STILL choose to commit to the team. The example of confidence, focus and bravery is astonishing! And motivating!
Giving ourselves the freedom to go for a dream or a goal, even if it seems outrageous, is the spice of life! I think it reminds us that there is always hope. We can always dream. It’s okay to explore. We should never give up, if it’s something we truly desire. Checking in with ourselves as we reach this halfway point in the year is a helpful way to keep that connection with our inner hearts, with our dreams, and what is really aligned for us. Are the goals you set in January still resonating?
Now is a good time to reflect on the first six months of the year.
What’s gone right? Take some inventory.
Are you happy with your progress? What were some challenges you had to work through?
Is your heart still in the same place with the goals and aspirations you set mid-winter?
Examine where we are at now.
Are your fundamental needs still accurate, or have they shifted in the last six months? Health, Spirit, Personal, Financial, Professional, Relationship, Home?
Are there new dreams and goals blossoming from the previous goals set for the year?
Is there a narrative running on repeat in your mind, that may be holding you back, as you work towards a specific goal? If so, how can we reframe it?
Are there some goals sitting static, not budging? If they are still important to you, how can you allocate time in your schedule for them? How can you prioritize them?
Now for the fun part…Let’s Envision Our Next Six Months!
Re-create your bucket list for the year. Crossing off what doesn’t resonate and adding your new goals, if you have any.
Break down how you plan to make these goals happen. Create incremental tasks to help move the needle. What is feasible for the third quarter?
Did you choose a word or mantra for the year? Reflect on it. If not, choose one now. Think about how you want to feel throughout the second half of the year.
What is one thing you can do regularly to show yourself your own credibility? What is one healthy promise you can make to yourself that will make you feel confident and happy?
Our mind does not know the difference between what is a vision and what is actually happening. So, create the vision that you want to see reflected back to you. Put out what you want to receive back.
