Finding Rhythm Playing In Life's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Feeling Each Back Beat, Deeply Within The Recesses Of My Mind
Greetings my Dear Readers!
Let’s just go ahead and take a nice breath together. Let it all out! Like blowing out birthday candles. Perhaps placing your hand on your heart. Close your eyes for a moment.
Just let go.
It’s ok.
Mmmmmm…
Well, alright then, Hello! How are you?
Things are moving along here. Summer has now, officially, begun here in our household! Whoo Hoo! Yesterday was the last day of school. And we are so very glad to be able to take a long deep, breezy, breath, here. Welcoming in this spacious gift, of course, with grace and gratitude. Things have been a bit intense, lately. Our boy came down with a mysterious fever that wouldn’t quit. Just as we were feeling very relaxed, very comfortable with life, and very, very immersed back into “normal” life. We needed to pivot, and pivot quickly. Back we went to our healing place, to stay for seven days. Very grateful for the supreme care and attention, knowing this is an extreme privilege. Above all it was a reminder of both our weakness, but also our true strength. Even though it has been a rather uncomfortable process uncovering that strength. We came together and have done well. We are so proud of our boy, for also, finishing out his eighth grade school year, yesterday, wanting to be present. He wanted to give summer good-byes and finish what he’d started. So, ready with masks and disinfecting wipes, off he went. My mama heart stayed quiet. This is something we were so pleased to see him do. Despite wanting to protect him. His resilience has been contagious. He keeps going, which drives us to keep going. Amazing how these sweet beings that come through us become our greatest teachers.
Continuing to be able to re-calibrate and re-attune to love is something, I believe, can be attained with the help of the soothing nature of mantra and music. Something I have gratefully relied upon through all the ups and downs of this journey. Turning to something nurturing, as I have spent the time, care-taking, for my son as he’s been recovering from this latest complication from leukemia, has been the link I’ve needed to help me keep going. It works quickly and has helped me to not to fall apart in high stress moments and to be able to do what’s needed in the moment. It’s given my brain a focus, in those extremely excruciating moments when we feel like our hearts are shattered, by just letting the vibrations penetrate, has given me a lift when I’ve needed it most.
I’m sharing the latest mantra and Kundalini chant that has held me during this latest bout.
(Kundalini is an ancient yoga technology. Read about it in a previous post here Let's Sit Together)
Ang Sung Wahe Guru
This chant is believed to help relieve stress and fear. 1
Ang (a part) Sang (with every or in every) Wahe (the indescribable living ecstacy of Infinite Being) Guru (a knowledge that can transform your essence, emotion, and mind). 2
This chant is very soothing. It is meant to calm the soul enough to help be able to traverse very hard challenges. I have found it incredibly helpful in staving off anxiety attacks in very high stress moments. It brings a feeling of connection with everything, including a higher source. Allowing the feeling of God or truth to touch the heart and help hold whoever is experiencing the chant. Giving a sense of confidence from deep within. Easing distress, navigating intense times, and bringing the senses back to a baseline.
I found that this chant cleared the way enough for me to be more calm, so I could make more clear decisions when I was quite exhausted. It’s perfect to put on and go for a walk and/or relax, resting quietly, sipping a freshly brewed cup of coffee;)
(Disclaimer: If you are in a medical emergency, always seek the guidance of a medical professional. This is not meant to replace psychiatric/medical attention and care.)
Please enjoy this playlist I made of some of my favorite renditions of this mantra.
As we continue the focus for this Chakra journey, here at Mantras and Coffee, on the Heart Chakra we are taking it slow. Choosing to give the attention to this area in a very intentional way. We began our focus on this area a few weeks ago. You can refer back here in this previous post here Heart Opener, Love Maker.
In the spirit of going slow, I must take some time to heal. My planned decluttering is set to the side for now. And I am ok, with that. Sometimes this is the best gift we can give to our own hearts is a little space and time. So, you have permission, if you are needing to hear this, take the time you need, it’s ok. My art studio isn’t going anywhere. With the summer season here, my goal is to make progress, not make perfection. Photos coming soon.
Here is a favorite album to listen to instead. Let some simple, wholesome joy begin to permeate and flow within. Even if it feels awkward or uncomfortable at first. I’ve loved The Beatles since I was ten years old. So GRATEFUL for their existence. I believe when we are reminded of those sweet things from our youth, we are able to heal our broken hearts. Choose your own adventure. But, choose an album you used to devour and see what happens!
Speaking of gratitude, after being inspired by fellow Substackers
and …as a thank you for being a part of the Mantras and Coffee community I have decided to allow more posts to be free and available to all. A gift from my heart to yours. If there ever is a paywall that pops up, there may be a more specific reason, like a snap shot behind the scenes, a rare ‘field trip’ of sorts or an invitation to go deeper into a specific exploration. (Currently planning for a beautiful home yoga retreat Virtual Immersion, through Life Force Academy now;) It will be fun to document! Here’s the link!Thank you for being here. I truly appreciate being able to write and release what’s on my heart and what has been of value moving through life’s adversities these last few years. As a token, here is a special code just for you here. Enjoy!
Well, so here we are!
Sending you so much love from my heart to yours!
Remember to take the time you need to feel your heart beat from time to time. Maybe while you tap your feet to a favorite tune or two. Just let it all go! Let me know what album you choose! I’d love to have a listen, too!!
