Dearest One,
How are you feeling?
Trusting in the unknown is a challenging thing to do. Actually, more than challenging. It can be anxiety inducing! Waking up at 3am, anxiety inducing!! It’s in these moments, that through cultivation, (and for some, professional help. I ❤️ my therapist!) we still can maintain some sort of tethered kind of feeling. Working with the Root Chakra and understanding your own capabilities is a key component in learning about yourself.
Using our breath is the gift that everyone is born with. Breaking life down into small moments and breathing through each one helps keep inner harmony. Coming back to conscious breathing, which we talked about in a previous essay… referenced here…
is an easy way, in those intense moments to help keep your center stay intact. This helped me recently, as I layed in my bed, dealing with Covid, alone in my bedroom, frustrated, feeling pretty bad. After recovering, life just sped back up again, no time for stopping, and I needed to take my boy for his leukemia treatment at the hospital. Again, the conscious breathing, while moving between, all the things, was a simple way that helped with that feeling of overwhelm, to not feel quite so heavy. Space and time can became more open for me. Allowing a calm, rooted feeling to come forward.
In day to day life, conscious breathing may mean taking more breaks and perhaps lowering the expectation of the amount of things actually getting accomplished. Clearing away distractions and prioritizing the absolutes. Your mental health matters. You matter! I’m excited to share some of my favorite ways that have helped me to align, stay focused on my momentum and remain tuned-in daily.
Wishing you a loving, calm start into February!
